What is Olaplex?

The current hair treatment taking the world by storm. Repairing and protecting the hair during a coloring process and  including an unparalleled home hair care routine.

Olaplex is a 5 step hair treatment that rebuilds the hair shafts from the inside, out. It works with a single ingredient called 'Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate'. That ingredient works by finding single, broken Sulfur Hydrogen bonds (the bonds that make up your hair) and joins them back together, making stronger, healthier hair. Bonds in the hair break when exposed to colour, bleach/lightener, heat styling and combing wet hair.

Think of it like a zip. An open zip is like broken, damaged hair, where as a closed zip is the equivalent of previously damaged hair that has had Olaplex treatments and now repaired.

"Olaplex gives you the ability to colour or lighten hair while minimising the risk of breakage."

"Completely non-toxic as well as sulfate-free, paraben-free, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and colour safe."

Since Olaplex was launched it has been the 3-step-system to healthier hair and used all over the world by everyday consumers and A-list celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Drew Barrymore and Chrissy Tiegan, just to name a few. The 3 steps have now turned into 5 and Olaplex has taken off like never before, but what are all these steps?

Olaplex No.1 - Bond Multiplier

(In salon ONLY)

Very concentrated. No.1 is added into colour and lightening mixes to begin the rebuilding process. An intensive 'Olaplex Diamond Treatment' can also be done in salon, without a colouring service to repair hair further than you can do at home.

Olaplex No.2 - Bond Perfector

(In salon ONLY)

No.2 continues to rebuild and repair the hair after your colour or lightener is rinsed out. This sits on the hair for at least 10 minutes, but the longer the better.

Olaplex No.3 - Hair Perfector

(Take home)

The Take-Home No.3 helps maintain the repaired bonds and gradually repair more even further. Use 1-2 times a week, leaving in shampooed, towel dried hair for at least 20 minutes. Again, the longer, the better. It's basically an 'at home' hair treatment.

Olaplex No.4 + No.5 (Shampoo + Conditioner)

(Take home)

Like No.3, 4 + 5 help to maintain the bonds that have been repaired in the Olaplex 1 & 2 step process. No.4 and No.5 are the take home shampoo and conditioner perfectly matched to the rest of your haircare routine. These 2 bottles are very concentrated, so a little goes a long way. Shampoo 2-3 times as you normally would, then condition through the mid-lengths and ends.

Olaplex steps 1 to 5 are all available in salon. The services and products can be mixed and matched to best suit your hair. Come in and we can build your perfect Olaplex haircare routine!
